A presidential board was formed in October 2014. Unfortunately, Hermann Schwengel was never able to take up his position as head of the board. As of now, the board comprises Anand Kumar (New Delhi), Ari Sitas (Cape Town) and Charit Thingsabadh (Bangkok).
On 20 January 2015, the GSP PhD programme was formally opened at Humboldt University. The ceremony was inaugurated by the university’s vice-president and attended by representatives of the embassies of all participating countries as well as guests, PhD students and their supervisors.
On 15 January 2015, the application process for GSP 2015 expired. Selection of the new batch will be completed by mid-February. All applicants who are eligible for the programme will be issued a certificate in order to apply for a visa. Candidates admitted into the programme will be informed in the second half of February.
Prof. Dr. Hermann Schwengel passed away on 7 December 2014. The founder of GSP and senior professor at Humboldt University was never able to start his post-retirement position.
